Vancouverites saw our first snow of the season just this past weekend and buuurrrr is it cold! With temperatures in the negatives, it feels like my skin is about to crack. Skin routines change just like the seasons do. In the cold and dry winter season, I tend to use heavier and more oil based products. I also like to do more over night masks to help with dryness. Here are some of my favourite winter time products:
Summer Friday’s Jet Leg Mask
Summer Friday’s Jet Leg mask is one of my favourites! Although it’s a thicker cream texture, it feels light on the skin. It also has a nice, subtle coconut smell. Another thing I love about this mask is it doesn’t leave your face feeling or looking greasy.
Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask
Another one of my favourite overnight masks! Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask does wonders to dry skin. This water based masked is very lightweight and something you can put over your night cream. Apply it at night after your regular skin care routine, and leave it on while you sleep. Wake up, rinse and feel rehydrated!
Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream
If you’re looking for a new, heavier moisturizer, Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream is one of my favourites. It’s a little bit pricer but a little bit goes a long way! This product lasts forever, and a small amount can provide a lot of coverage. It definitely feels heavier, but helps protect your skin from the cold weather throughout the entire day.
The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Yup, you read that correctly, $6.80! The Ordinary is known for their affordable but effective skin care products. This serum is a great addition to your winter skin care routine, or even all season! It’s lightweight, oil-free, and even vegan! Put this serum on before your moisturizer both either day and/or night and feel the difference with your skin!
